Week 5 Tuesday 14th August
Todays run was 5 miles slow. It was 23 degrees and would have been unbearable to do a hilly run. Our club treasurer suggested we do Berryhill Fields run but with a mile loop first as it would have only been 4 miles otherwise.
Sam, Sharon and me ended up doing it on our own as everyone else seemed to be in favour of hill reps despite the heat. We did our mile loop by running down Cromer Rd and up Lime Kiln bank and then down Cromer again to go to Berryhill.
After a couple of miles Sharon had a rest whilst me and Sam completed the required amount to get back without having to run up a bank again but still do 5 miles. Sharon had sufficiently cooled down and was able to join us on the way back and she had no more problems as the weather cooled down a bit.
We were a bit slower than we should have been but we decided not to worry about the pace and run the rest of our training at a pace that suits us.
