Week 3, Day 4 - Thursday 2nd of August
Today's run was 4 miles, a fairly fast run (for us beginners anyway). The page should have been 11 and Sam and I did it in an average speed of 10.50, so that went well.
We both decided that we wanted to do a run on the flat but there aren't really a lot of choices to do 4 mile, flat runs from Northwood. One would be to do the Stoke Station and back the other choice would be to go to Milton cross roads and back. Since we have done the Stoke Station run so many times just lately that we could do it in our sleep; we decided to do the Milton one. It involves running down Cromer Rd, then along Leek Road to the traffic lights at Milton; turn around and run back again. Very boring but at least it would be flat.
On the way there, it was very hot again and yet again I got a little light-headed. We also started off a bit too fast but slowed down gradually as we went on and at the end we were doing more or less the right pace.
It was a nice surprise when we turned around as suddenly we could feel a light breeze which we hadn't had on the way. This made the run a lot more comfortable. it also tried to drizzle a bit which we welcomed whilst running. However, as soon as we got in the car to go home; the heavens really opened and we had a thunder storm.
