Week Minus 2

Not quite time for the training for Barcelona Half-Marathon but i have slowly started the recovery from my operation, on Wednesday.  Since I'm not allowed any running, I came to the conclusion that some uphill walking might help with keeping my legs, heart and lungs in some kind of fitness and hopefully will stop me piling on too many pounds.

Since Saturday, I have been walking every day for two miles including Penkhull New Road.  I can't really walk completely upright nor very fast but it's better than doing nothing.  It takes roughly around 40 minutes to complete so over a week that will mount up to 3 hours and 40 minutes and almost half of that is uphill.

Barcelona training will start on Tuesday 27th of November.  That first session is a 3 mile run/walk but I'm hoping to a little bit of running as part of my daily walk before that date.
